Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Ascend Church Tempe based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

David and Roxie Beach
Lead Pastor
Reverend David J. Beach serves as Lead Pastor of Ascend Church Tempe. He’s married to Roxie Beach and has twin sons Joshua and Jacob Beach. He serves as the Assistant Men’s Director of the Arizona Ministry Network and is the East Valley Director of the Arizona Trauma Informed Faith Community. A Colson Fellow with The Colson Center for Christian Worldview, Pastor Dave is Ordained by the Assemblies of God and has completed a Master’s of Divinity in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. At home you’ll find him sipping single origin anaerobic coffee from his Moka Pot while studying scripture and playing guitar…all at the same time
John and Lexi Labrada
Associate Pastor
John grew up in Southern California. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 2011 and was then stationed in Yuma, AZ in 2012. He served as a sergeant and worked as a jet engine mechanic in the Marine Corps until 2016. He has a bachelor's in business management from Grand Canyon University and is currently working full-time for a company in Tempe. John is currently getting his masters in Christian Ministry at Grand Canyon University.
John and his wife, Lexi, have been married since 2015. They have been serving as the Youth Pastors are Ascend Church since 2017.

Adam & Manilyn Feringa
Nursery and Pre-K Director
Manilyn originally is from the Philippines and have been serving at Ascend Church Tempe since 2021. Manilyn has over 20 years of teaching experience, having worked with young children from birth to age six at a local church in Manila. She has a unique, interactive teaching style that makes learning about the Bible fun for toddlers and preschoolers. Moreover, Manilyn has facilitated international children's events and conferences and has undergone training to work with children safely. Besides her church teaching, she has volunteered with a non-profit organization in the Philippines to create a learning environment for children in a safe space. Adam and Manilyn are proud parents of two sons.
